Brand Story: The Walkers story began over a century ago in 1898 in the Scottish Highlands, when twenty-one-year-old Joseph Walker fulfilled his dream of opening his own bakery with a £50 loan, aiming to create the world's finest shortbread. In his inaugural year, Joseph devoted every spare moment to perfecting his shortbread recipe, an effort that soon paid off. As his reputation spread and demand soared, Joseph expanded operations, relocating to a larger shop in Aberlour and investing in a horse-drawn cart for wider distribution.

By the 1930s, the business, much like Joseph's family, flourished. His sons, James and Joseph, joined, injecting fresh ideas. By 1936, they expanded the product line to include cakes, confectionery, and acquired their first delivery van. Despite trends towards cheaper substitutes like margarine, Joseph insisted on using butter, confident in customer appreciation for superior quality. This commitment endured after Joseph's passing in 1954, with his sons maintaining his original recipe.

The business continued to grow, relocating in 1975 to a custom-built factory accommodating new products like Chocolate Chip Shortbread and specialty cookies.
